Hey there! Carlos here, a full-time wedding photographer based in Wiltshire. For over a decade, I've been lucky enough to capture the joy and emotions of more than 200 beautiful weddings. It's been an incredible journey, and I love what I do! Photography has been my passion since childhood. I was inspired by watching my father document local events with his film camera.
My path into wedding photography was a personal one. It all started when a close friend asked me to take photos on his wedding day. In that moment, I realised how powerful it is to freeze time through, keeping memories alive that might otherwise be forgotten. Now that I'm a dad, I truly understand how important it is to visually capture those special family milestones. When it comes to your wedding day, my approach is all about capturing the real, unscripted moments. I'll document the laughter, the tears, and the little moments as they unfold. Around 95% of my shots are unstaged candids, capturing the true essence of your day. For the remaining 5%, I'll blend in some classic group photos and any fun, creative bridal party or couple's shots if you're up for it. My aim is for you to be fully present, without my presence being a distraction.
What truly fuels my passion for wedding photography is the chance to visually tell a unique and authentic love story. No two weddings are alike, but I pour my heart into each one and give my all on the day. Those unplanned, spontaneous moments are the ones that make an album significantly more meaningful, even years later.
When I’m not Photographing weddings...
When I'm not photographing weddings, I like to go explore the countryside with my wife Lais and our two daughters. I was born in Angola, but I moved to Portugal to study at university. There I earned a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a Master's degree in microelectronics engineering. A job opportunity brought me to the UK almost 10 years ago - time has flown by! My education in technical fields like engineering has helped shape my photography style. I try blending my technical skills with creative artistry in my photos.
I really enjoy travelling, and beach destinations are my favourite places to visit. Mauritius is one spot I love going to. If I could, I'd live right next to the ocean! Movies are another passion of mine - classics like Titanic and Top Gun are two of my all-time favourites. I listen to all kinds of music, from popular songs to traditional Angolan music from my home country. My playlist is extremely varied! I also really like great coffee and cake - it's a small indulgence I allow myself. One random talent I have is being able to wiggle my ears one at a time. It's not the most useful skill, but it's kind of fun!
